Asia Pacific Judicial Educators Meetings

A meeting of judicial educators was held in Broadbeach, Australia on 28 October 2012. The participants were judges and administrators representing judicial education bodies in New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Australia. The meeting considered the topics of encouraging judicial participation in education programmes, reconciling participation in judicial education with case load responsibilities, securing adequate resources for presentation of professional programmes, training of faculty and presenters, striking the balance between black letter law and court craft, the challenge of adult education, methodology in presenting programmes, sharing resources and the development of a regional community of judicial educators. The meeting agreed to have further meetings at least once a year.

The next meeting will be held in Wasington DC USA on 4 November 2013.
