First “Applying Family Law to Parenting and Property” Program delivered

Delivery of the NJCA’s first pilot Applying Family Law to Parenting and Property Program took place on 19 and 20 April with a small number of participants welcomed from various Australian jurisdictions.

Jurisdictions represented at the program included the Magistrates Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the Magistrates Court of Queensland. The Chief Magistrate from the Supreme Court of Norfolk Island, the Chief Judge from the Northern Territory Local Court and the NJCA CEO, also attended.

Presenters for the 1.5-day program were Judge Tom Altobelli (Federal Circuit Court of Australia); Judge Kate Hughes (Federal Circuit Court of Australia) and Professor Richard Chisholm AM.

Feedback from the pilot group during the delivery was positive and the participants’ comments has informed quality improvements to the program. The NJCA Program Planning Committee thank the Applying Family Law to Parenting and Property Program participants and the volunteer presenters for their invaluable contribution.
