The NJCA is working with our university partner, the ANU College of Law, to appoint a “Judge in Residence” to participate in the life of the ANU College of Law for a two week period in February/March 2019.  Exact dates are negotiable within this time period.

The Judge in Residence will be invited to meet with academics, present to students and staff, and act as a general resource for students and staff interested in understanding the judiciary and “what it takes” to be a judge.  The Judge in Residence will also have the opportunity to provide advice to the NJCA staff working on professional development programs for the judiciary.

While this is a voluntary position, travel to and from Canberra and the cost of accommodation on the University campus will be met by the NJCA and the ANU College of Law.

Applications are invited from serving and retired judicial officers.  To apply, please forward your expression of interest to njca@anu.edu.au by 30 July 2018.  Please include in your expression of interest your resume, areas of professional interest, and whether you have had any prior experience with developing/delivering adult education.

A panel including the Dean of the ANU College of Law, Professor Sally Wheeler, and the Chair of the NJCA, Chief Justice Helen Murrell, will review all expressions of interest.
